In LA this time of year we turn our attention to our beloved Lakers. It must be a lot like living in New York in October. People like winners, because of the shear odds of always winning. It got me thinking of what it takes to win. I noticed that the Lakers weren't really celebrating their win yesterday. It was business as usual. What I mean, is that they expected to win and aren't surprised by it. That is not a common attitude. Others. I mean losers, celebrate too early and often place all the emphasis on the starting of a goal. As if the starting of a goal is any indicator of how you will finish. It isn't. You would know this if you have started many things, while finishing very little.
No the Lakers win, because they know that the start is just the beginning. It is who wins the last game that wins it all. That is what they are playing for. So what are you playing for? To just make the business playoffs or to win it all? You see the only real winners are those that play to win. Everyone else loses.
Surviving is not a goal it's a liability. So what if you feel as though you have already lost? That's the best news of all. You have only lost a game. Not the series. It's like what I tell my daughter in golf. If you hit a bad shot, that only gives you an opportunity to show everyone how good you are. So what are YOU going to do today?
